With knock-out and knock-in genetic strategies, a new
methodology was brought to bear on the dissection of the 
major
inhibitory signal transduction system in the brain.

been discovered. In the future, tranquillizing drugs without
sedation can be developed on a rational basis, a goal which
seemed elusive for the last 30 years.
