ST:  Why do you think your paper is highly cited?

It is in a fast-evolving area.

ST:  Does it describe a new discovery or a new methodology that's useful to others?

Yes, the latter. The paper gives a new technique for identifying differentially expressed genes in comparative microarray experiments.

ST:  How did you become involved in this research?

Through a visit to my co-author Terry Speed's group in the Division of Genetics and Bioinformatics at the Walter & Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research in Parkville, Victoria, Australia.End
