ST:  Why do you think your paper is highly cited?

It summarizes intensive work that can be valuable for people who are working in the field of lithium batteries, which is very crowded now.

ST:  Does it describe a new discovery or new methodology that's useful to others?

The results described in this paper were published before, however, what may be new is the description of an entire picture based on a number of previous articles.

ST:  Is it a condensation of previous literature on the subject?

The paper doe indeed include a lot of data from previous literature.

ST:  Could you summarize the significance of your paper in layman's terms?

This paper describes complicated surface phenomena in rechargeable lithium and lithium ion batteries on the interfaces of both anodes and cathodes with the electrolyte solutions. It provides a basis for understanding stabilization and failure mechanisms of rechargeable lithium and lithium ion batteries.End
