In our paper we gave a new construction of a vertex operator algebra and classified its irreducible representations. This vertex operator algebra is an important subject in physics and is known as a W_3-algebra. Our approach is purely mathematical and our description may be very useful for not only mathematicians but also physicists. We also presented a method for constructing new vertex operator algebras by using ternary codes. Our idea of the method can be applied to some other cases.End
