ST:  Does your paper describe a new discovery or new methodology that's useful to others?

This paper is part of a fairly new and exciting effort to unify continuous and discrete calculus. Dynamic equations on time scales have been introduced in order to unify the theories of differential equations and of difference equations.

ST:  Could you summarize the significance of your paper in layman's terms?

The study of time scales has led to several important applications, e.g., in the study of insect population models. Currently, many researchers are getting interested in this theory and are contributing important results. End
